JO1 Brings Its First North American Tour to Webster Hall on October 4

Japan-based global boy group JO1 is coming to New York as part of its first North American tour, “2026 JO1 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR ‘ANIMAL.’” The New York show will take place on Sunday, October 4, at Manhattan’s Webster Hall. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The five-city tour kicks off in Toronto before heading to New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Ahead of the New York Concert, NY Biz asked the members about their thoughts on New York and what they especially want audiences to look out for during their live performance.

As the leader, what is the one thing you most want New York audiences seeing JO1 for the first time to come away thinking, “This is JO1”?

■ SHO　“A performance fueled by ambition!! I want people to see us taking on a world we’ve never experienced before.”

New York is a city whose dance and street culture has influenced the world. On a New York stage, what would you especially like audiences to pay attention to in your performance?

■ REN　“JO1-style live performance.”

New York is home to a wide variety of cultures, including music, fashion, and art. Is there anywhere you would like to visit or anything you would like to experience while you are in New York?

■ RUKI　“I love fashion, so I always want to see what’s happening in fashion. I’m also interested in seeing art and experiencing it firsthand if I get the chance.”

What emotion or message do you most want to communicate through your music to New York audiences, despite differences in language and culture?

■ JUNKI　“Of course, I want people to listen to JO1’s music and our singing, but I also want them to feel our energy, LOVE and peace!”

Is there anything you are personally looking forward to at the New York show, such as the audience’s fashion or reactions?

■ KEIGO　“I’d get really excited if I saw people with JO1 merch that’s sold in Japan! It would make me think, ‘Wow, you came to see us!’”

JO1’s U.S. debut EP, “ANIMAL,” will be released on October 2, the opening day of the tour.

If you had to describe the U.S. debut EP “ANIMAL” in just a few words to New Yorkers who have never heard JO1 before, how would you describe it?

■ TAKUMI　“A cry from the heart. I think ANIMAL represents the power that each of us holds deep inside our hearts and souls. It’s an EP about unleashing that power and almost shouting out, ‘This is what I feel.’”

Is there a particular song you are excited to see how the New York audience reacts to during the live show? Why?

■ SYOYA　“I think ‘DOWN’ is going to get the crowd really excited. Even though it’s called ‘DOWN,’ there are parts that feel really ‘UP,’ so I think everyone will be able to get into it and have a great time.”

The North American tour will visit Toronto, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Is there anything you want to do onstage specifically for the New York show?

■ SKY　“New York brings together people and cultures from so many different countries, and I have this image of the city itself having incredible energy. I want to bring some of that atmosphere and energy into our performance.”

When the New York show is over, what would make you happiest to hear fans say about JO1 as they leave?

■ MÁME　“I’d be happy if they thought we were a group with really strong physical performance skills. Our live shows put a lot of emphasis on performance, so I want to do my best to communicate our feelings through our singing and dancing.”

With their U.S. debut EP in hand, JO1 is ready to bring its music, dance, and energy directly to New York audiences. All eyes will be on Webster Hall on October 4 to see how the group’s signature “JO1 style” translates to the New York stage.

The New York stop of the “2026 JO1 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR ‘ANIMAL’” will take place on Sunday, October 4, at Webster Hall (125 E. 11th St.). Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. The concert was originally scheduled to take place at Terminal 5 but has since been moved to Webster Hall. New York In-Store Signing Event Set for the Day Before the Concert

JO1 will also hold an in-store signing event in New York on Saturday, October 3, at 4:00 p.m., celebrating the release of the group’s U.S. debut EP, “ANIMAL.”

The event will take place at Rough Trade Below in Manhattan and is one of three U.S. in-store signing events being held to celebrate the release. For New York fans, it will be a special opportunity to meet JO1 just one day before the group takes the stage at Webster Hall.
