アメリカ演劇界で最も権威のある、トニー賞司会は人気ホスト

６月９日にニューヨークのラジオシティ・ミュージックホールで開催される「第73回トニー賞授賞式」。該当期間中にニューヨークのブロードウェイで上演された演劇、ミュージカル作品を対象に贈られる賞で、米演劇界で最も権威のある賞とされている。作品賞や俳優賞はもちろん、演出家、デザイナー部門などが演劇とミュージカルそれぞれに設けられており、まさに１年のブロードウェイを総括する授賞式といえる。

今年司会を務めるのは、２回目の登場となるジェームス・カーデン（James Corden）＝写真。ＣＢＳの人気トークショー「The Late Late Show」のホストを務める人気抜群の俳優でホストでコメディアンだ。

授賞式の模様は、同日午後８時からＣＢＳで全米生中継される。
