Green Tea… Swish, Don’t Swallow
緑茶でマウスウォッシュ
For 2014, almost everyone I’ve spoken with had made a New Year’s Resolution. Some people want to go to the gym on a more regular basis; some people want to eat healthier; some people want to be more patient with their children and others want to think more positive thoughts.

Most of the resolutions revolve around getting healthier overall. One of the easiest ways to get healthier is by watching what you drink. I’ve heard a health expert say to minimize drinking your calories. That simply means that it’s easier and healthier to EAT your daily calories and it’s easier to keep the calories in your drinks to a minimum. Water is zero calories. Other drinks such as alcohol are loaded with empty calories. Soda is another drink with empty calories. Teas and coffees are minimum calories but what you put into them may be empty calories.

One of my favorite drinks is green tea. It has multiple health benefits. But today I’m not talking about drinking green tea, I’m talking about having green tea as a mouthwash. My good friend came back from a trip to Asia last week. As a souvenir, he bought me a sample size of Colgate Plax Green Tea mouthwash. Oooo, I’ve never seen this before! It was a light green color that promises 12 hours of fresh breath (fabulous!), 99.9% germ reduction (love it!), alcohol free (even better!), and all the online reviews says it tastes great (I’m convinced this could be the next best thing in a mouthwash!) I was so excited after reading the reviews, I went on the internet to see where to get more. I couldn’t bear to use that small bottle and not have any left! Unfortunately, the only places I saw that had the Colgate Green Tea mouthwash available was in Asia. Hmmm. Green tea as a healthy drink as well as in a mouthwash? What’s there not to love!

When I get into the office tomorrow, I will have to share this 60ml bottle with my office team to see how they like it as well. After all, sharing is caring and what better way to show the love than to share some green tea!(次回は2月第2週号掲載)
